Solange Besson

Choir director

After training in classical piano at the Conservatoire de Sion in the class of Aline Baruchet and obtaining her teaching diploma, Solange Besson taught piano in the Bagnes and Orsières sections of the Conservatoire Cantonal.

She then developed a passion for choral singing and obtained a choral conducting certificate in the class of André Ducret, still at the Conservatoire de Sion.

For more than 20 years, she directed the VIVA children's choir in Bagnes and the Echo du Mont-Brun mixed choir in Le Châble.

Since 2017, she has directed the ladies choir La Romaine de Martigny.

The activity of chorister, which she practices within the vocal quartet Quadratuor and at the Ensemble Vocal de Saint-Maurice, is particularly close to her heart. In 2016, she obtained her singing certificate in the class of Jean-Luc Follonnier.

Involved in the Valais choral community, she worked for several years on the committee of the Association valaisanne des chefs de chœur and is currently president of the music commission of the Groupement des sociétés de chant du Bas-Valais.
