Rosa Welker

Chamber music teacher

Passionate about music since her childhood, Rosa Welker began playing the violin at the age of eight with Claude Marguerat. After her violin diploma, she perfected herself with the viola she had discovered at the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Suisse Romande. She studied with Christine Sörensen in Lausanne, Asdis Valdimarsdottir and Mikhaïl Zemtsov in the Netherlands and Wendy Enderle-Champney in Zürich. She had the opportunity to take part in masterclasses given by Robert Zimansky, Christophe Quatremer, Garth Knox, Barbara Westphal, Nobuko Imai. Inspired by those exceptional chamber music players and artists, she occasionally performs in orchestras and chamber music groups. Rosa is dedicated to transmitting her passion for music by giving lessons and concerts. Teaching has become her passion. For several years a now, she has introduced rhythmic and music classes as well as conducting school orchestras, also giving violin and viola private lessons.
