Émilie Roulet

Piano accompanist

Émilie Roulet studied piano at the Conservatoire du Nord Vaudois before joining Christian Favre’s piano class at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2015. In 2016, she spent a few months in Mozambique and participated in the establishment of a music school in Maputo. She then returned to Lausanne to further her education with a specialized Master’s degree in accompaniment, studying under Béatrice Richoz, Marc Pantillon, Todd Camburn, Anthony di Giantomasso, and Gaspard Glaus. She was awarded the Prix Paléo in recognition of her overall achievements.

A lover of diversity, she works as an accompanist at the Conservatoire de Musique du Nord Vaudois and in various music schools in French-speaking Switzerland. She also teaches piano as an independent instructor and serves as the pianist and rehearsal accompanist for the Lausanne-based choirs Ensemble Vocal Bis, conducted by Olivier Piguet, and Calliope, directed by Florence Grivat.

She has been a rehearsal pianist for projects such as The Barber of Seville by Opéra du Rhône and Antigone by Compagnie Agora. She has also been engaged as an accompanist by the Opéra de Lausanne for youth workshops and won the Lavaux Classic prize in 2020 with the show Mimi & the Blondies, co-created with Béatrice Nani and Anne-Sophie Petit.

Her love for music extends beyond classical genres; she is the pianist for the pop-folk band Hemlock Smith, with whom she has performed on stages such as Le Bourg in Lausanne, Le Bout du Monde in Vevey, and Les Salons in Geneva. Along with the band’s singer and leader, Michael Frei, she released The Beauty of Lost Causes, an intimate album under the English label Trepanation Recordings, which they presented in numerous concert venues alongside guitarist Fred Merk.
