DUO NEGOÏTA-RYSER

The soprano Sophie Negoïta and the pianist Jansen Ryser met in their mutual music theory classes at the Lausanne Conservatory. Ten years later, their friendship and their musical understanding led them to form a duo and from then on, they performed regularly in recitals in Switzerland.

They were heard on radio broadcast on Espace2, stood out at the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition, followed several masterclasses including that of Simon Lepper from the Royal College of Music and have recently graduated from a Postgraduate Liedduo at the Mozarteum in Salzburg in the class of Stephan Genz.

The duo is interested in an eclectic repertoire and this includes the great classics (Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven,...) but also contemporary and modern music (Webern, Crumb, Saariaho,...). They recorded their first CD “Miniature” at the Mozarteum and performed at ART Association for an “Italienisches Liederbuch” by Wolf with the duo formed by baritone Yannick Débus and pianist Dominic Chamot.

Recently, we were able to hear them in a recital dedicated to Spring at the Grand-Théâtre de Genève, at the Musical Weekend of Pully (CH) for a Strauss Mozart and Poulenc recital, as well as at the new festival of the pianist Sylvie Courvoisier at the Museum of Modern Art Plateforme 10 (Lausanne) for several contemporary music recitals.
