Déborah Sauboua

Viola teacher

Déborah Sauboua discovered the sound of the viola at the age of six at the Saint-Leu-la-Forêt music school (France). She quickly decided to make it her life’s pursuit and joined Laurent Bruni’s class at the Conservatory of Cergy-Pontoise, followed by Alain Tresallet’s class at the Conservatory of Saint-Maur. She later earned a Master’s degree in Orchestral Musician from the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, studying under Frédéric Kirch.

Her passion for ensemble music led her to collaborate with several orchestras, such as the Sinfonietta de Lausanne, the Bienne Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

Alongside her musical career, she also obtained a Master’s degree in Pedagogy. She teaches viola and music initiation, and through her work with young students, she became deeply aware of the importance of Art in children’s education. Beyond knowledge, music fosters sensitivity, teamwork, and curiosity. She remains convinced that music is a valuable asset in a child’s personal development.

She currently teaches viola and music initiation at the École de Musique Vaudoise en Réseau in Savigny and viola at the Conservatory of Lausanne.
