Davide Montagne

Viola teacher

Born in Verona into a family of musicians, Davide Montagne began his studies in violin and viola at the Conservatory of L'Aquila with Professor Sabatino Servilio. He then entered the Rotterdam Conservatory in the class of Vladimir Mendelssohn and to the Maastricht Conservatory in the class of Mikhail Kugel where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2006. After a stay in Italy where he benefited from the advice of Simonide Braconi and Antonio Anselmi he returned to the Haute Ecole de Genève in 2009 where he obtained a Masters in Pedagogy in the class of Zoltan Toth. He then perfected his skills at the Haute Ecole de Lausanne in the class of Gilad Karni.

During his career he collaborated with several orchestras across Europe, such as the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the RAI Orchestra of Turin, the Theater La Scala in Milan, the Leeds Opera North, and the Welsh National Opera in Cardiff. In Switzerland he collaborated with the Ensemble Contrechamps in Geneva, the Ensemble Symphonique de Neuchâtel as well as with the Chamber Orchestra of Fribourg. Very active in chamber music, he is part of the Histoires de Musique ensemble based in Neuchâtel.

Passionate about teaching, he currently teaches at the Lausanne and Cossonay School of Music.
