CROME
CROME (CROssover Modular Ensemble) explores two synergies: one between contemporary jazz and chamber music, known as crossover, and the other between string instruments and saxophone. Saxophonist Samuel Urscheler tailors the repertoire for his quintet: written music meets improvisation, jazz, classical and folk music are accompanied by contemporary playing techniques, while all the members of the ensemble have their say.
In November 2020 CROME released its debut album ‘Komorebi’.
CROME won 2nd prize in the ‘Music Competition of the International Lyceum Club of Switzerland’ in November 2021.
The second album, ‘Oneiroi’, was released in May 2023. After a tour of French-speaking Switzerland in 2023 and concerts in 2024, CROME is preparing for new adventures. To be continued...
