Agata Lazarczyk

Violin teacher

Agata Lazarczyk (Nowak) was born in 1992 in Cracow, Poland. Raised in a home full of musicians, she was immersed in the world of music from a young age and soon became fascinated with the violin. At age 6, she began her serious music education.

Throughout her childhood and high-school period, Agata was a laureate of many national and international competitions for young violinists. She also began to travel and broaden her experience, receiving extra musical training thanks to projects like “Morningside Music Bridge” in Calgary, RIAS Jugendorchester in Berlin, Baltic Sea Youth Philharmonic under Kristjan Järvi and ABAM International Chamber Orchestra under Krzysztof Penderecki.

At age 18, Agata began her studies at the Fryderyk Chopin Music University in Warsaw with Jan Stanienda. Here, she collaborated with other talented musicians in various formations and learned that her biggest passions lie with chamber music and orchestral playing. After graduating with distinction, she decided to leave Poland to further her studies and career internationally.

Agata spent the years between 2013 and 2017 studying in Switzerland. Here, she obtained a Master Performance at the Conservatoire de Musique de Lausanne (Site du Sion) with Francesco De Angelis, as well as a Master Performance Soloist with Ilya Gringolts at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. During this period of studies, Agata established herself as a successful chamber musician and orchestral player, performing with the Verbier Festival Orchestras, the Lucerne Festival Academy (many times as 1st concertmaster) and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester for an internship year (season 2015/16). Since then, she also collaborates frequently with major Swiss ensembles such as Tonhalle Orchester Zurich, Berner Sinfonieorchester, Collegium Novum Zürich, Camerata Venia, Opernhaus Zurich and Camerata Schweiz.

In 2018, Agata joined the renowned Carmina Quartet as 2nd violinist and has performed with them regularly ever since. She held a 1st violin tutti position at the Opernhaus Zurich for the 2018/19 season and Associate Concertmaster in the Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen for the 2019/20 season.

She is currently performing as 2. Violin leader in Argovia Phlharmonic and she strengthens the group of 1. Violins in Luzerner Sinfonieorchester.

Agata plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Grancino from around 1690.
